Unable to find System Defined InfoOjects while creating a Custom infoObject.

Hello Experts,

 

First of all I am not an expert in basis infect I am new to SAP. I have managed to install IDES ECC 6.0 on my laptop for the purpose of learning SAP BW/BI. I have manged to come across some problems earlier and you people have helped me overcome those problems.

 

Now I am stuck in another problem and It seems to be rather a problem which a basis specialist could resolve.

 

I was practicing form SAP BW book, While creating a custom InfoObject it asked me to add the system defined InfoObjects/Attributes(0CUST_GROUP, 0CUST_GRP1 etc.) in the attribute tab of the custom infoObject. But when I press F4 and search for the system defined attribute/infoObject it say the object did not exist.

 

I was going through some blogs that I have to active some business contents. I did activated all the objects from there but I still am unable to find them. I also read that in some blogs that I have to create a SAP source system connection with SAP BW source system. Since I have installed it on my laptop I am assuming both source systems SAP and BW are on my system. But I am unable to configure/connect them. See attached files for more details. One more thing I was able to find the required InfoObjects in RSA5, RSA6 and RSA3. I even executed to check if there was data by RSA3 and it showed me it exist and there was data in it.

 

Please find below the link of screen shots and figure out what the problem. I will be extremely grateful if you can provide me a step by step process on how do I need to solve the issue. Thank you in advance.

When I look at the extractor code for  it says it uses tables MBEW and MBEWH.  I don't see anywhere in the code where it reads MBEWH.

Early Delta Initialization

I want to restart and add fields to some of my LO extractors and to turn on some new ones.

 

The three of particular interest are 2LIS_11_VAHDR, 2LIS_11_VAITM & 2LIS_11_V_SSL.

 

I have been using 2LIS_11_VAITM for some years and the other two I am going to start using from scratch. 2LIS_11_VAITM I want to add new fields to so i'm planning on doing a new init and reloading.

 

In the past we have gone to great lengths to sort out filling the set up table and avoiding down time etc. Using mirror systems etc.

 

However I was looking into using the Early Delta Initialization option. All three of these datasources are capable of using this. My understanding of this is that I can run the fill set up table without needing any down time if I use this option.

 

The process roughly being:

 

Run an init without data on an IP with the Early Delta Init flag set.

Clear the set up tables and then fill the set up tables (on the live productive system e.g. NO DOWNTIME)

Run a full load IP.

Start the collection Job.

Run the Delta IP.

 

Question 1 - Is the above theory correct?

 

But I've also been reading that having these datasources set to Queued Delta would make the early delta process pointless but i'm not understanding why - I've read several discussions / blogs / notes (505700 / 753654 and more) on the matter but I'm still not understanding why this is the case.

 

Question 2 - Can I do early delta init with Queued delta and if not why not (in easy to understand words as Ive read a few things already and not fully understood!).

Business Content Activation

Hi everyone,

 

I am starting to activate the business content from 0 (all modules: FI, CO, SD, MM, Warranty, Logistics, etc) and I am becoming crazy because of the big amount of objects are able to activate.

 

Could you please share some tips about what objects activate? which objects are more usually activated?

 

Has anyone a document of the standar objects (infoobjects, ods, cubes, etc...) for each module?

Profitability Analysis Without COPA

We do not have COPA implemented in base systems. We want to do profitability analysis. Can somebody suggest any document that shows how to go about it.

 

What are the BCT cubes/ datasources which we can use. Etc Etc.

Any BI Content for APO

Dear ALL,

 

In my project we need to setup a seperated BW to extract data from APO for analysis.

 

Where can we find the business content for APO relevant BW object..

 

For APO BW datasource,  we can generate the BW resource for each planning area in APO..

Question 1 :   will those datasource only working for DP level ?   how about the datasource, for SNP, and other level such as PP/DS , TP/VS , will it be automatic generated ,or APO system contains the datasource for them -- could be found in RSA5 ??

 

 

In BW system, I could only find several infoobject - charactertis / key figure under SCM / APO folder,  is there any by default DSO or Infocube for APO BI content ?   -- does this because the data flow for BI is bw 3.5 data flow, only include the transfer structure / update rule to cube, ??

 

Any DSO and Cube content for Seperate BW modeling for APO ?

 

If you have experiance on extract data from APO to a seperated BW, could you please share your idea on above question, or any others useful.

While transferring Data From PSA to DSO by process chain what is the flow will happen and

if errors comes means how can we identify it easily using log else how can we identify data is not successfully dumped in that target ( DSO)

table BWFI_AEDAT empty?

Hi Guru's,

 

I am loading DS 0FI_AP_4 into our BI7 system.  However, I notice that even after running an init load and then a delta the next day, that the BWFI_AEDAT table is empty.

 

I perhaps do not understand the purpose of entries in this table?  I thought it was to store all rows already transferred via the delta load (for use in a repeat delta if required) if the corresponding date was still available in the BWOM2_TIMEST table for this DS?  And also for failed rows requested on a prior delta request?

 

If not, is there any config I need to do to enable entries to get written into this table?  Our BI system is fairly new and perhaps not fully set up, so maybe we still need to do some config settings?...

i just need soem help in COPA ENHANCEMNT ,so if u have any idea ,please help me.

my question is ia have one datasource and i added new field for it were the field added is taken from table CE1DOC1 in which other fields alraedy avlvble in the datasource are also taken from table CE1DOC1.so after adding now thru append structure will teh data be populated or we have to go for CMOD .Field  iam adding is  WWTRP-COMPANY -DOMAIN RCOMP CHAR -6 ,SO if iahve to write cmod how to populate the values for the new field.please tell me. Primary keys are PALEDGER,VRGAR,VERSI,PERIO,PAOBJNR,PASUBNR,BELNR,POSNR ,so tell me the

Data source base on FM

hi ,experts

   About the data source base on FM ,the standard sample is use open cursor(like part 1 on picture).Because after open cursor,I wanna use select * from Table konp ...all entries in konh... to get the delta records.(as there is no create date in the table konp,  there is create date in the table konh).Both of tables are big,so there is a low performance.(  change the code use select package size 10000 ...endselect can rise the performance)

 

  So I wanna use the code like part 2(before this I have put the data of konp to itab lt_temp_result use select package size 10000 ...endselect).

  The question is extrator the data source from bw, the traffic light is always yellow.

   Does data source base on FM must be use open cursor?

HR Standard Datasources (infotypes 21, 167)

Can you specify the way you search standard data sources when you have a specific business requirement?

Delete source_package not working ?

Hi,

 

I need to delete records in the source_package while loading from 1 dso to another dso, based on the below condition. The records are not getting deleted.

 

Do we need to handle it through looping on the source_package ? Please advise.

 

Delete source_package where SO_ORDER_TYPE NE 'A'or SO_ORDER_TYPE NE 'B'.

 

Basically I do not want any SO's other than these 2 order type's.

 

Please advise how to handle this in start routine.

sap program to activate (RSA5) a list of extractors in ECC

Hello experts, I know  program RSDS_DATASOURCE_ACTIVATE_ALL to activate (repair) datasources that have been replicated in sap BW.  Is there any other sap programs that allow us to activate (RSA5) a list of datasource from ECC before they are replicated in BW ? Thanks JHN

BI cont and BW Version

Hello,

 

We are using s4hana. HANA version is sp9 rev 97.

 

The embedded bw version of s4hana is (740 p 11) SAPKW74011

 

Our basis has installed BI cont version as BI cont 757 0010 (SAPK-75710INBICONT).

 

 

does Installing higher version on BI content in lower Embedded BW version of s4Hana create impact ?

 

We are still on SP09 version of HANA, BI cont 757 0010 is delivered for SP10, would this create compatible issues

 

Appreciate inputs on the same

how to extract partner function data from VBPA through generic DS?

Hi Folks,

 

We have a requirement to extract the Partner function PARVW = 'zc' from VBPA. Please find my below points and advise.

 

1) There is no date field in VBPA to extract the delta through generic ds. ( where I will lookup with the SO and populate the value for PARVW = ZC).

 

2) I need to combine VBAP and VBPA as I need the ZC value for all the SO's along with item level.

 

3) There are few SO' with the item number blank in VBPA, how do I extract the data based on a view if I put the below condition, its not extracting the data with SO item = blank from VBPA. There are few SO in VBPA where the ZC value is maintained at the header level as well.

 

4) Do we have any standard DS on VBPA table ?

 

Please advise if I am not clear.

I have created a Hierarchy for one of the InfoObjects and when I am loading data, DTP is in yellow with the message "Remaining node of hierarchy XXX is larger than the hierarchy Message no. RH227". How to overcome this issue?

Classification - Extraction of mulitple-values characteristics

Hello,

 

in CTBW I realized that it is obviously only pssible to create datasources including single-value characteristics.

 

Can someone confirm this? At least I run into an error message by the system telling me that.

 

So, is anyone extracting characteristics from ERP into BW where for those characteristics multiple-values are allowed?

 

How can this be developed?

 

Any ideas would be appreciated.

0CO_OM_WBS_6 extractor for WBS Elements

Hello Experts,

 

We are currently using the 0CO_OM_WBS_6 extractor for fetching the (WBS Elements: Actual Cots) information using the delta mechanism. The delta is is enabled by the use of MOSTRECENT in the BWOM_SETTINGS and is handled using overwrite DSO.

 

We noticed a scenario recently where for a project, few of the WBS elements were changed changed/replaced. Unfortunately in my company the users are not restricted replacing the existing wbs element and upon research this is sometimes required also.

 

However this change was not tracked by the delta extraction and we didnt have any updates for the delta. In the CJ20N transaction I can see that the WBS element is updated with a latest data. I understand that the base view for the extraction is COVP and PRPS is used to retrieve the WBS Master data.

 

I have seen in SDN earlier in 2005 where someone has reported similar issues, but I was hoping that SAP must have fixed this already. I have done a lot of research however was not able to find a satisfactory reply other than re-initializing the data source. I have checked the delta extraction timestamps as well, and can confirm that the delta could not have been missed because of the 0CO_OM_WBS_6 restrictions.

 

I am not sure whether any change in the WBS element using CJ02 or some other transaction can trigger a delta for 0CO_OM_WBS_6.

 

Anyone who has faced this issue or similar please let me know at the earliest.

Change of Semantic grouping on DTP

01.  If Semantic grouping are maintained on DTP and I need to include a new field (ex: source system),


Can we change it when data already loaded to provider (DSO,CUBE)?
